What is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness is a way of 'paying attention on purpose, in the present moment, and non-judgmentally' (Jon Kabat-Zinn).
In our busy lives our minds are rarely noticing the present moment. Instead our minds tend to be occupied with thoughts about the future (planning, organising, imagining the worst) and/or the past (going over things, remembering, ruminating). Mindfulness is about bringing awareness to what is happening right now, and bringing a curious, non-judmental attitude to whatever we find.
